Licensed Practical Nurse

(Independent Contractor—Full-time/Part-time/Casual)

Licensure/Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse educational program
  • Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (nurses licensed to practice nursing in other Canadian jurisdictions must be eligible for licensure in Manitoba)
  • Must have acquired a minimum of 2,015 Canadian working hours
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification may be required, depending on the job site.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Evaluate the patient’s condition and apply the relevant medical knowledge to practice
  • Capability to respond to a medical emergency and a stressful environment
  • Provide a medical update to the doctors, patients, and family members
  • Apply significant medical experience with effective patient care planning
  • Prepare the necessary paperwork for patient endorsement
  • Ability to work within established standards or policies, protocols, and procedures of T.O.P. Healthcare Solutions Inc., various Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) of Manitoba, and Personal Home Care
    • Practice patient confidentiality

Conditions:

  • Complete resume with 3 references; one has to be from your most recent supervisor
  • Be up-to-date with BLS and CPR
  • – For Nurses seeking RHA work in acute facilities, TNCC, CTAS, ACLS, and PALS are an asset
  • – For Nurses seeking to work in Birthing Units or OBS, NRP is a requirement
  • Required Immunizations are as follows;
  • – MMRV – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • – Hepatitis B series
  • – Tuberculin Mantoux screen
  • Tdap—tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough)
  • All applicants must provide copies of the following documents as per our agreement with the RHAs:
    • Criminal Record Check
    • Vulnerable Sector Search
    • Adult and Child Abuse Registry Check

Compensation:
